CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD?

To guarantee your stay, we require a valid credit card for pre-authorization at the time of booking. Reservations without a valid credit card may be canceled. For your convenience, we only accept payments in U.S. Dollars via credit card. We do not accept checks and WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH.

Occasionally, we accept Venmo or Zelle payments. Please give us a call to discuss these types of payments.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY RESERVATION IS CONFIRMED?

Upon successful booking, you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. This email will contain all the details of your reservation, including your stay dates, room name and number, and any special requests you may have made.

If you haven’t received a confirmation email after 24 hours, contact Tandem Bike Inn. We will be happy to confirm your reservation for you.

HOW DO I CANCEL OR MODIFY MY RESERVATION?

We get it, life happens! If you need to adjust your stay, we kindly ask that you notify us at least 14 days before your arrival date to receive a refund. This applies to all changes, including shortening your stay or canceling altogether. As a small, family-run business, this flexibility allows us to manage our reservations effectively.

For cancellations made within 14 days of your arrival, we are unable to offer a refund or credit. However, please don’t hesitate to contact Tandem Bike Inn directly. We’re always happy to chat and see if we can find a solution that works for everyone.

DO YOU ACCEPT GROUP RESERVATIONS?

We specialize in handling group reservations! Every year, we host groups of all kinds that stay with us at our Jersey Shore Boutique Inn. They typically book all of our rooms for 2 days to 5 days.

These groups include:

– Bicyclist clubs
– Women’s groups
– Family reunions
– Sports teams
– Funeral group guests
– Hobbyist groups
– Yoga groups
– Business conference groups
– Trade show guests
– Holistic and spiritual seminar guests

Booking a group reservation with us offers several benefits! Enjoy private Inn access and private rooms at restaurants we have partnered with. Receive streamlined room assignments for all of the guests and a dedicated point of contact for your entire group. And of course, you get all the benefits of staying at our Belmar hotel, including the use of our bikes, free breakfast, and beach passes for your whole group!

Since group reservations are always unique, it is always best to give us a call and let us know your desired dates, number of guests, and any room preferences. We’ll handle the details and ensure a smooth stay for your entire group.

ARE MY CREDIT CARD AND PERSONAL DETAILS SAFE?

Yes, it’s VERY safe!

The Tandem Bike Inn uses a secure payment processor and your credit card information is not stored on our system after it’s entered.

And, to boast about how seriously we take credit card safety, we remain fully compliant with PCI DSS and do vulnerability scans every 3 months to go the extra mile. Many bed and breakfasts, boutique hotels, and motels do not do this.

CAN I BOOK ON SOMEONE ELSE'S BEHALF?

Yes, in most cases you can book a stay at Tandem Bike Inn on someone else’s behalf! When making the reservation, you’ll need to provide the full name and contact details of the person who will be staying at the Inn. This includes their phone number and email address.

You can choose to pay for the reservation yourself or use the other person’s credit card information with their authorization. It’s important to get their permission before using their credit card. The person checking in must be of legal age and present a valid ID.

WHICH CREDIT CARDS CAN I USE TO COMPLETE MY BOOKING?

Tandem Bike Inn utilizes a secure booking system that accepts most major credit cards for your convenience. While we typically process Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, we recommend verifying the accepted payment methods during the online booking process for the most up-to-date information.

I HAVE A GIFT CARD! HOW DO I USE IT?

Each gift card has a unique ID. When booking, enter the unique gift card ID to redeem the balance. Or, give us a call. We are happy to assign the gift card to your reservation.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE ANY MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS?

Tandem Bike Inn welcomes guests for weekend getaways and extended stays. To ensure optimal availability and enhance the experience for all our guests, we do implement minimum stay requirements during peak season:

May – October: For reservations arriving on Fridays and Saturdays during peak season (May – October), a minimum two-night stay is required.

Holiday Weekends: Three-night minimum stays are mandatory for Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, and Fourth of July weekend.
We highly recommend booking your stay in advance, especially during these popular times as we are at full occupancy.

HOW CAN I MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST?

Here at our cozy Belmar Hotel, Tandem Bike Inn, we want every experience to be unique. We will do our best to accommodate special requests.

WHAT TIME CAN I CHECK IN TO MY ROOM?

Check-in is at 3:00 PM or anytime after. This allows our housekeeping staff ample time to prepare your room.

We do offer an early check-in at 1:00 PM for $45, subject to availability based on prior guest requests.

WHAT IS THE CHECK OUT TIME?

Check-out is at 11:00 AM. This allows our housekeeping staff time to prepare the rooms for our next guests.

Treat yourself to a leisurely departure! Want to eat lunch, spend extra time at the beach, or get some much-needed sleep? Upgrade to a late check-out until 1:00 PM for just $45, subject to availability based on prior guest requests.

DO YOU OFFER HOUSEKEEPING?

In-room housekeeping is not offered during your stay. Our rooms are meticulously cleaned and sanitized before your arrival.

Should you need any supplies, extra towels, or trash removal during your stay, simply text or call the Inn and a fresh basket of supplies will be delivered outside your door.

IS THERE WI-FI IN EVERY ROOM?

Yes! All of our rooms at the Tandem Bike Inn have fantastic 5G Fios Wi-Fi internet. The whole hotel is equipped and blazing fast! You can find the Wi-Fi password in your room. We also include lots of other things too. Read about them here!

IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN OUR STAY?

Short answer: YES!

Long answer: Absolutely! Each day you spend at our Jersey Shore Bed &  Breakfast, you will get a complimentary home-cooked breakfast. Breakfast seating is at 8:30 or 9:30 AM only.

Wake up to the aroma of fresh ground coffee and our indoor herb garden! No continental breakfasts here; we pride ourselves in serving a home-made, delicious breakfast with fresh, seasonal ingredients that is more of an experience than just another meal. Consistently praised by our guests, it is one of the many reasons our guests keep coming back over and over again.

We cater to a variety of dietary needs, offering gluten-free options, fresh fruit, and yogurt parfaits alongside hearty classics. Self-serve Keurig coffee and tea are available 24 hours daily in the dining area.

Enjoy your breakfast in our charming dining room, complete with sunlit windows and a warm atmosphere. Or, in the warmer months, eat breakfast outside on our wrap-around porch.

DO YOU HAVE QUIET HOURS?

For a restful night’s sleep and a peaceful environment for all our guests, we kindly ask that quiet hours be observed from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

IS THERE AN ELEVATOR IN THE INN? ARE THERE ROOMS WITH WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?

Unfortunately, we do not have an elevator within the inn. However, we do have a ramp leading to the hotel entrance. It’s important to note that once inside, there are stairs leading to the rooms.

We understand the significance of accessibility and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly, and we will do our best to accommodate you during your stay.

WHERE CAN WE PARK OUR VEHICLE?

We offer limited on-site parking for registered guests in our Inn lot, located behind the Inn. One space per room. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There’s also free street parking available in the surrounding area. Parking is generally free throughout Belmar, but please be sure to check street signage. Tandem Bike Inn cannot be held responsible for damage or theft to vehicles parked on the property or the street.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR ROOM?

The Tandem Bike Inn offers a lot of amenities. From free bicycle rentals (Tandem and regular bikes) to complimentary breakfast, cookies, and beach passes.

Please note:
Beach badges will be loaned to you during your stay upon request. Failure to return the beach badges when checking out will result in a $75 charge per tag to your credit card. Use of TBI bikes and beach equipment are available upon request and for use at your own risk.

CAN I TAKE A BIKE TO THE BEACH FOR THE DAY?

No, bikes are available for riding only for excursions of 1-3 hours. As they are shared by all guests, please do not take them all day.

Please note:
Night riding is not allowed. Bikes are available for use for 1-3 hour excursions between 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.

Use of TBI bikes are available upon request and for use at your own risk.

CAN WE BRING OUR PET?

To ensure a relaxing stay for all guests, Tandem Bike Inn is a pet-free Bed & Breakfast. We do not allow animals.

However, we love animals of all kinds and understand the importance of traveling with your pet. Let us know, and we’ll gladly help you find pet-friendly accommodations nearby.

DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN?

Guests must be at least 21 years old to make a reservation and check into a room. We welcome children aged 15 and over accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout their stay.

Each of our rooms are for double occupancy.

CAN I GET AN ADDITIONAL BED FOR A THIRD PERSON IN A ROOM?

Tandem Bike Inn prioritizes the safety and comfort of all guests. To ensure this, we adhere to occupancy limits established by our licensing regulations.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional beds for third persons in our rooms. Our rooms are designed for a maximum of two guests. However, we do offer options for booking multiple rooms if needed.

Please note:
Exceeding the confirmed occupancy limit for your room is strictly prohibited.
Only registered guests can occupy guest rooms, hallways, common areas, and the parking area during their stay. Failure to comply with these occupancy limitations may result in the termination of your stay with full charges for the entire reservation.

HOW DO I GET TO THE HOTEL? DO I NEED A CAR OR CAN I TAKE A TRAIN?

The NJ transit train drops you off only two blocks away from our hotel in Belmar. We are about a 4-minute walk from the Belmar station, making it super convenient to take the train. For the New Jersey transit train and bus schedule, go to njtransit.com/destinations/jersey-shore

HOW DO I PURCHASE A GIFT CARD?

Congratulations on giving a unique gift! Purchasing a gift card for the Tandem Bike Inn is a fantastic gift idea for yourself, a friend, or a loved one. It’s super simple, go to our gift certificate page and scoop one up!

I OWN AN ELECTRIC CAR. WHERE CAN I CHARGE IT?

WHAT IS YOUR SMOKING POLICY?

To ensure a comfortable and healthy experience for all guests, Tandem Bike Inn is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted inside the building or on the porches. We kindly ask that you use the designated smoking area located at the back of the Inn by the parking lot, equipped with chairs and ashtrays.

For everyone’s safety, there is a NO candles, open flames, or incense policy inside the hotel.
We take this very seriously and anyone not following the policy will be charged a $300 cleaning fee if a smoke odor is detected in the room. Please see our policies page for more details.

WHAT IF I LOSE MY BEACH BADGE?

From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, The Tandem Bike Inn provides complimentary Belmar beach badges. You will find the beach badges in your room when you arrive. 

We kindly ask that you leave them in the box provided in your room at the end of your stay. Your credit card will be charged $75 per lost or missing badge. Please see our policies page for more details.

CAN I CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE IN MY ROOM?

Yes!

Who are we to tell you how cold or hot you should be!? Every room has a thermostat for heat as well as a mini-split for air-conditioning. Ceiling fans are in all of our rooms as well. You control it all!

CAN I BRING MY OWN BATH PRODUCTS OR DECORATIONS?

No.

To maintain the functionality and pristine condition of our Jacuzzis, we kindly ask guests to refrain from using external bath products such as bubble bath, bath bombs, and bath oatmeal. These products may clog the jets and potentially stain the tubs.

Approved bath salts are available upon request.

Live roses or flower petals are not permitted due to potential staining and disposal challenges.

Tandem Bike Inn offers beautiful decoration packages featuring silk flower petals for adorning beds, along with elegant faux candles to create a romantic ambiance.

For the safety of all guests, open flames are strictly prohibited in all rooms.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN BELMAR?

Our family left Austin, Texas to live in Belmar, New Jersey for many reasons. One reason is how much fun it is to live and play at the Jersey Shore!

There are not many places in the world left where individuality is celebrated. For instance, did you know that many towns on the Jersey Shore will not let the larger corporate restaurants and businesses open here? We love that because it gives smaller mom-and-pop and family-owned businesses like the Tandem Bike Inn a chance to thrive.
